Allianz Mental Wellbeing is available as part of your Studentsafe policy. There is no additional charge to download or use the app or to use the desktop version, which includes a personalised programme of videos and exercises to build your resilience and Wellbeing Assessments to regularly check in and track how you’re progressing. If required, you have been allocated four 30 minute coaching sessions for additional support.

Allianz Mental Wellbeing is available to eligible Studentsafe policyholders.

Any discussions with coaches are kept strictly confidential.

If you cancel or reschedule the coaching session within 24 hours of your original appointment, it will count
as a session and will count as one of the four pre-allocated coaching sessions.

The Allianz Mental Wellbeing App uses a vast evidence base and proven methodology that has measurably improved
wellbeing and performance outcomes including:

Allianz Mental Wellbeing is powered by Uprise and is based on the research of Dr Jay Spence that uses a stepped care approach that matches individuals with care based needs and preferences to improve mental health outcomes.

Who can use the app?

The app can be used by eligible Studentsafe policyholders who have paid their premium. It is currently being rolled out to international students. If you have family members confirmed under your policy and have paid the additional premium, your family members may also use the app. 

Does it cost anything to use the app?

The app is free to download and there is no additional cost to use the personalised training programme, the full library of content, Wellbeing Assessments and your allocation of up to 2 hours of coaching sessions.

Will my results be shared with anyone?

Your responses to the Wellbeing Assessment will be anonymous unless you have opted to utilise the coaching service. If a coach determines that urgent support is required based on your results, they may contact you. However, conversations with a coach are strictly confidential between you and your coach. 

Can I keep using the app while I visit my home country?

The app is available for you to use as long as you hold a valid Studentsafe policy. If you are using a different phone number while you’re abroad, you can update your phone number in the settings of the app to remain contactable during your time abroad - just make sure to change back to your New Zealand number when you return.

How many coaching sessions are available?

If required, you have been allocated four 30 minute coaching sessions for additional support. If you have finished using this allocation and your coach recommends further support, you will be referred to Campus Care. 

How do my family members register?

Family members who are confirmed under your policy and have paid the additional premium, can also sign up for the app. They should fill out their details upon registering and use your student ID number. 

Can I keep using the app after I graduate from my university?

The app is available for you to use as long as you hold a valid Studentsafe policy. 

What is the personalised training programme?

The app provides access to a library of videos and exercises which are tailored to support you based on your responses to the Wellbeing Assessment.  

What kind of services do the coaches provide?

You have been allocated four 30 minute coaching sessions under your account. The coaches are there to help you learn skills to build resilience and get support. Any discussions with coaches are kept strictly confidential. If you cancel or reschedule the coaching session within 24 hours of your original appointment, it will count as a session and will be deducted from your account. 

What kind of mental health benefits are there under my policy?

Under Studentsafe Inbound University, the policy will reimburse you for all reasonable Medical Expenses incurred in New Zealand for the treatment of depression, stress, anxiety, mental or nervous disorder, suicide or attempted suicide or self-injury. The maximum claimable amount under Mental Illness is $20,000. Terms, conditions, limits and exclusions apply and these are set out in the Policy Wording. There is no cover for Medical Expenses incurred outside New Zealand for the treatment of Mental Illness.
